One for the Bucket List – Bukit Pandawa Golf & Country Club, Bali

With the World travel becoming much more accessible and travel costs becoming much more affordable, holiday makers are looking for more than just your average getaway. They are looking for a destination, an experience, diversity, culture..not to mention the compulsory sun, sand and sea and at Bali, you will find it all.Often referred to as ‘The Island of the Gods’, Bali offers great beaches, countless waves for surfing and wonderful natural sites to visit and explore, colourful ceremonies, and gifted artists. There is an unbelievably wide range of hotels and accommodation, restaurants, spas and world-class activities and shopping – all within close distance and at very fair prices.!

The latest addition to Bali’s growing collection of World-class golf courses, is the stunning, Bukit Pandawa Golf & Country Club, which opened late last year.
Its location is spectacular, set on a limestone cliff-top overlooking the world-famous surf breaks of Bukit Peninsula.
This outstanding venue offers 18 championship calibre par-3 golf holes, many of which are back-dropped by rural country ruins and spectacular views of the Indian Ocean.
The Clubhouse is architecturally inspired by the many grand temples Bali and is renowned for and is the centrepiece of a grand development that will eventually include several 5-star hotels, including a Waldorf Astoria, Mandarin Oriental and Swissôtel.

The 18 hole Championship-calibre course is routed through dramatic rock outcroppings, around terraced rice paddies and across a limestone clifftop overlooking spectacular white-sand beaches and the Indian Ocean, Bukit Pandawa Golf & Country Club is the first golf course of its kind on Bali if not all of Southeast Asia. While the par-54 layout is a time-saver – a typical round lasts just 135 minutes – it is not short on challenge or distraction, with an abundance of bunkers and strategically placed waterfalls sprinkled into the latest Bob Moore creation.
The 13th hole is framed by three bunkers and features curved stone walls in the foreground and an ornate Kul Kul tower and the Indian Ocean in the background has now got its name as the course’s signature hole.
The club is the centerpiece of an expansive development that will include several 5-star hotels, including a Waldorf Astoria, Mandarin Oriental and Swissôtel.
It comes as no surprise, that Bukit Pandawa has been nominated by the World Golf Awards, which will take place at La Manga Resort in Spain later this year. They have been voted as one of the World’s best par-3 courses. The team at Destination Golf couldn’t agree more, they certainly have our vote!
